WORKSHOPS
LEVEL II: ROUND REED WEAVING
With Ryan DePaolo
Saturday, April 5th
9:30 am - 5:30 pm // $150 per person
(includes lunch)

This full-day workshop is the next level in Round Reed weaving. You worked through weaving basics with Level I (or you have prior experience with round reed weaving), learned some of the terms (slew, slath, spokes, and weaver) and are ready for a more complex base and pattern in your baskets. This workshop will focus on technique and how to create pattern with color. Your basket will be approx. 5" in diameter at the base and 5-6" tall using the following techniques: closed base, Japanese weave, hidden join, bi-staking, three rod wale, step up and basic rolled border. If you took Level I here, this basket held your tools! Choose from 4 color options to personalize it. The workshop runs for a full 8 hours, includes lunch, and is limited to a max of 6 students so everyone gets individual attention. All materials and tools provided. It'll be a full day but what a great space to spend it in! Sun or clouds it's a light-filled room with a quiet, creative energy.
